SEATON CARE HOME GET’S THE FESTIVAL FEELIN’
September 04, 2017
In the spirit of the festival season, ‘The Seaton Care Home’, part of Southern Healthcare Ltd., held their own garden party with a festive theme. The 28-bed care home owned by independent care provider Southern Healthcare, value relationships with all members of the community, believing this contributes greatly to the relaxed and comfortable environment established in the home by encouraging enriching experiences for both residents and visitors.
The festival consisted of an eclectic taste of live performances, food and activities to include local entertainer Professor Bumble presenting magic, unicycle and balloon modelling. In-house activities co-ordinator Andy Cowling, together with Geoffrey Cox, Managing Director of Southern Healthcare, sung and performed many old classics for all to enjoy. This was complemented with a live ukulele act and last, but not least, Maxine, singer and entertainer. The food court presented dishes from around the world from Indian and Chinese, to an all-American grill.
Residents and staff enjoyed sharing the fun-filled day with their new friends from the Pink Hippo Day Nursery & Pre-School. The nursery school previously helped to celebrate International Teddy Bear Picnic Day with The Seaton, in celebration of this increasingly recognised holiday - Pink Hippo’s tots had joined residents and staff in the newly refurbished courtyard decorated with bunting to enjoy scrumptious home-made cakes prepared in the home’s kitchen that morning.
